Social Projects and Development Team

Cardiff Council’s Social Projects and Development Team is led by Tony Riches supported by Jo Sutcliffe, Jayne Miller and Diana Glinn.  Working across the Council’s Social Portfolio and reporting to the Corporate Director of Social Services Neelam Bhardwaja, the team provide a focus for developing social inclusion through innovative project management.

The Team also provide guidance on project management and service development.  Tony and Jo are qualified PRINCE2 practitioners and use the Council’s Project Quality Assurance (PQA) approach, which is derived from PRINCE2, on all projects.  The team are also piloting Agile Project Management which aims to:

  • Satisfy stakeholders through early and continuous delivery of valued outcomes
  • Welcome changing requirements
  • Deliver 'quick wins' in short timescales.
  • Work as closely as possible with stakeholders
  • Build small self-directing project teams
  • Communicate face-to-face and often
  • Keep it simple
  • Adapt and adjust to new ways of working
