Cardiff Mental Health Integration Project

Adult Community Mental Health services in Cardiff and the Vale are provided by teams employed by three different organisations – Cardiff Council, the Vale of Glamorgan Council and the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.  The aim of this multi-agency project is to improve access and delivery of services for people with mental health problems by bringing these different organisations together to develop what is known as an ‘integrated service’ that:

• promotes good mental health and social inclusion of people with mental health problems
• involves service users and carers in all aspects of planning services
• delivers seamless individual assessment, treatment and care planning
• frees up resources from administration to service improvement
• creates greater opportunities for independent living.
